We've all been to church conferences where great speakers dispense great information. However, most of the practical learnings and best practices are often shared between sessions "in the lobby," where ministry leaders engage together in organic conversations. At the Lobby Gathering 2.0, we will expand and celebrate these important, peer-to-peer conversations.
The Lobby is a great environment to consider fresh ways of making disciples through groups. You will interact with knowledgeable small group practitioners who desire that groups be more than connecting people together – but are intentional about moving people closer to Jesus and reaching out to their world.
You will also develop, create and leave the Lobby with a strategic plan and be supported to implement that plan. Based on Steve Gladen’s new book – Planning Small Groups with Purpose – you will connect at the conference with other ministry point leaders developing a similar plan and learn from some of the brightest and most innovative small group ministry practitioners.
Whether you consider yourself a beginner or veteran small group point person, you will have an equal voice in each and every circle of conversation. You should consider inviting others (another pastor or from your ministry team) to join you to help discern appropriate strategy and actions steps.
Because of our beautiful setting at the Muskoka Bible Centre, you will also have times to enjoy God’s creation, reflect and be refreshed.
Pricing will include lodging and meals, and is based on double occupancy. Roommates will be assigned. Alternative lodging available by request.
Purpose of Lobby Gathering 2.0
To serve churches that have a group ministry with a conference for their ministry point leaders, resulting in more healthy and growing groups by 2020. Lobby Gathering 2.0 will be a time of investing in point leaders. These leaders will return equipped to invest themselves into their small group leaders.
