A pre-conference just for you

Living a missional life is a challenge while navigating your 20s and 30s. Change, uncertainty, calling, careers, relationships—these are all familiar themes and challenges we face. We don’t have to do it alone. Join us for a day for young leaders by young leaders. Explore what it means to engage and influence the world around you in life-changing ways while you connect with like-minded, passionate people. Hear their stories and share your own. Be inspired by international leaders who will show us how authentic faith, serving God and our transitioning lives intersect.

Why Mission

Acclaimed author and activist, Debra Hirsch, will kick off our time by telling her story. She will share how God interrupted her life, brought her healing and a passion to love God and others. You will have a chance to hear and share stories of God calling us into something bigger than any of us.

The Centrality of Jesus

Jesus-following newlyweds, Rebekah and Jonathan Van Santen, will guide us into exploring the first century Gospel movement that we read about in the Book of Acts. We will wrestle together with Jesus’ place in His advancing kingdom. Alan Hirsch will engage us with the question: “Why is it important that we don’t lose sight of the reality that Jesus is Lord as we give ourselves to mission and disciple-making?”

Navigating Life Transitions

Carleton journalism grad, Gerrit DeVynck, will guide us through an “unconference” experience to explore what is looks like to navigate 3 key areas of change well: 1/from school to career 2/moving city to city and 3/relationship transitions. Veteran Kiwi Navigators Mike and Audrey Shamy will do some story telling around the question “How do we stay hopeful when life doesn’t turn out the way we thought it would?”

Disciplines of Missional People

Henri Nouwen once said, “You don’t think your way into a new way of living. You live your way into a new way of thinking.” In this session Michael Frost will help us consider disciplines of engagement and abstinence that can help us to stay healthy and sustain us in mission.
